In this paper, the analysis of the main achievements of “EATON Corporation” on the labor protection is presented.

The main features of the methods of consumers familiarization with the peculiarities of application of Directive 2006/42/EC, EN 954-1 (DSTU EN 954-1), EN ISO 13849-1 (DSTU EN ISO 13849-1), IEC 62061 and other normative documents in order to minimize possible production risks in the operation of production equipment are defined.

The description of a new training and research laboratory of the safety of production processes in the Department of labor protection, industrial and civil safety of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, created by means of cooperation with “EATON Corporation”, which was organized in order to improve the level of professional training of its graduates, is presented.

Department of Labor Protection, Industrial and Civil Safety National Technical University of Ukraine “Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute” and SE“ Eton Electric ”a decision was made on further cooperation in the field of labor protection and industrial safety. First of all, it concerns the creation of a joint training and research laboratory on the safety of production processes. This laboratory should allow not only to provide the highest world standards of education for graduates of. National Technical University of Ukraine “Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute” regarding the level of their professional training in such an important area as labor protection and industrial safety, but also to allow students and teachers of the department to conduct research in this area. Also in the future it is planned to provide in this laboratory the possibility of organizing additional professional training for professionals already working in various fields of production in order to increase their skills in the field of labor protection and industrial safety to the level of European standards.

In the process of teaching students at our department it is planned to acquaint them with the existing requirements of EU Directives, standards and regulations, which must be taken into account to ensure the safety of production equipment in the process of its design, operation and maintenance. These requirements are set out in the latest English version of the EATON / MOELLER Safety Manual. Safety technology for machines and systems in accordance with the international standards EN ISO 13849-1 and IEC 6206.
