How to create safe and healthy working conditions: a guide for the employer
Have you signed an employment contract with an employee? Take care of proper, safe and healthy working conditions, prevent accidents and occupational diseases. We will remind how to do it correctly.
What are “working conditions”?
Anything that affects the health and ability to work of the employee. This is the workplace, the state of technological processes, equipment and other means of production, the state of means of collective and individual protection, sanitary conditions.
Working conditions are safe if the impact on the worker of dangerous and harmful factors of production is eliminated or their value does not exceed the maximum allowable levels.
The employer is fully responsible for ensuring proper, safe and healthy working conditions and does so at his own expense.
All parties win – both the employer and the employee. After all, you avoid costs and losses due to possible production stops, prolonged absence from work, compensation for treatment and rehabilitation, as well as training of new employees. Take into account indirect costs: damage to reputation in case of accidents, reduced employee motivation, staff turnover.
